Chocolate Chip Pancakes Recipe

Easy chocolate chip pancakes are airy, golden brown, and slightly crunchy. Taste them with butter and maple syrup for breakfast!

– ▢1½ cups all-purpose flour (180g) – ▢2 tablespoons granulated sugar – ▢2½ teaspoons baking powder – ▢½ teaspoon salt – ▢1 cup whole milk (300ml) – ▢2 large egg – ▢4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted plus more for cooking (56g) – ▢2 teaspoons vanilla extract – ▢1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (180g)

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Whisk milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a medium basin until well blended.

Step 1

Add the wet mixture to the dry and stir until almost incorporated. Stir in the chocolate chunks several times to distribute. (Don't whisk the batter completely smooth—a few lumps make fluffier pancakes.)

Step 2

Heat a large non-stick skillet on medium. Grease lightly with butter. Place ¼ cup of pancake batter per pancake into the hot skillet, working in batches.

Step 3

Optional: top pancakes with chocolate chips. Cook each pancake for 3 minutes until the edges are firm and the top has many bubbles.

Step 4

Flip carefully and cook until golden brown and springy, 1–2 minutes. Keep warm on a dish while cooking the rest of the pancakes. Serve hot with maple syrup and butter.
